Data Sensemaking is the practice of inviting stakeholders to interpret data findings. It is an important final step in the data analysis process here at Innovation Network, where we can check our biases and ensure stakeholders’ perspectives mold the meaning of data findings. Sometimes, we are surprised by what findings are emphasized based on the context and perspective that others bring to the conversation.
Our director Veena Pankaj speaks about Data Sensemaking in an interview on the Heart, Soul & Data podcast. She shares the value of this type of participatory approach, and shares concrete examples of what this looks like in action, including tools such as Data Placemats and Emergent Learning.
