Presenting at Eval24: Amplifying and Empowering Voices in Evaluation

We are excited to present at Evaluation 2024, the American Evaluation Association’s annual conference, in Portland, OR. Our team looks forward to spending time learning and refining our evaluation practice and sharing lessons from our own work.

This year, we will present on tensions in implementing participatory approaches for evaluation and an example of centering advocate voices in the creation of an evaluative framework. Each session will offer a unique perspective related to the conference’s theme, Amplifying and Empowering Voices in Evaluation, about bringing forth new ideas, practices, and creative approaches to evaluation to elevate fresh ideas.

Visit each session page to find more details and resources provided at each session:

  1. Moving the Needle towards Participant Ownership: Exploring Participatory Practices that Shift Power in Evaluation: Participant ownership is a key value underlying practicing equitable evaluation principles. Innovation Network and the Institute for Community Health will share examples of how we are moving toward participant ownership by incorporating participatory practices in evaluation and learning design in their projects
  2. Centering Advocate Voices in the Development of Powered Together: A Tool for Measuring Collective Power in Coalitions: During this demonstration, Innovation Network will present its approach for developing a new tool, Powered Together: A Pulse Check for Coalition Power, Equity, and Strength, for measuring collective power in coalitions. This unique tool was designed with definitions and indicators identified by diverse coalition members to ensure that the tool is most useful them.
